Journey On reflection

From time to time when I meditate, I find that I fall asleep, as I did with this exercise.  I always find a deep sense of peace in exercises like this.  And even though I may fall asleep, I find that I still reap all the benefits of these types of exercises.  I feel like it was what my body needed at the time.  When we sleep our sub-conscious opens up and is like a sponge, sopping up whatever it is fed.  Exercises like this one is a great tool to bring upon clarity and a sense of well being into our lives!  ~

  1. I think it's awesome that you are able to fall asleep during relaxation exercises. I haven't started a meditation routine yet, but I've been wanting to. I hope I am able to get the benefits from them that you described.

  2. Michelle,
I fell asleep at the end of it also. I still felt relaxed even though I think I was only asleep for a minute. I have never done meditation, but I want to try it along with other exercises like yoga to help with relaxation and stress relief.

  3. I typically fall asleep as well. I found it very relaxing, but I also agree with you that although you fall asleep during these types of exercises the benefits are still reaped. There's an app I have on my old iPhone that has this Scottish gentlemen talking you into a super deep relaxation. I've used him a couple times to fall asleep when I had troubles on my own; I slept better, harder, and woke up more refreshed than days when I don't. Clarity certainly occurs. :)

  4. I did not fall asleep in this exercise, however I have fallen asleep in a meditation class in the past. I experienced what you mentioned as still being able to benefit from the exercise. I can still hear the instructor's voice and instructions. I am still not sure if I am awake or asleep at times. I am conscious when the exercises are over, yet I continue to remain still and calm in the mind and body.
